A quick history: While the first talk of Valentine's Day started in the age of Chaucer, eating and giving chocolate for the holiday didn't start until much later, in the mid 1800's. It was then that Richard Cadbury figured out a process to separate chocolate into "drinking chocolate" and extract the excess cocoa butter to be made into "eating chocolates". Although Cadbury didn't patent the first red, heart shaped box, it is believed that he made the first one. Even though the temperature is still warm, September is the start of the holiday season at Red Rocker Candy. We are gearing up, cranking production, and making more of the candy you LOVE! Keep an eye out, starting in early October Peppermint Bark will be back! Also, new this year we have Snow Day Mix, which is white pretzels, Junior Mints, Nonpariels, and crushed peppermint all drizzled with dark chocolate. So start thinking about your gift giving lists, because we have you covered!
We filled the parking lots around Red Rocker with amazing classic and modern cars on Saturday, August 5th. We had 98 cars cruise in, doubling last year's attendance! $1000 in proceeds will be donated to Fluvanna County Habitat for Humanity.
